The Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2016 – International Trade
We were delighted to be recognised as one of the select businesses who won the 2016 Queen’s Award for Enterprise – the UK’s highest accolade for business success. Our award was received for International Trade in recognition of achieving exceptional year on year export growth.
We were especially proud as this is the second Queen’s Award we have won in five years, previously winning the same award in 2011.
The IET Innovation Awards 2015
MIAT’s Salurate salivary test for pre-eclampsia won in the Healthcare Technologies category at The 2015 IET Innovation Awards. We are all absolutely delighted that Salurate has been recognised as a highly innovative technology which utilises a unique way of testing for pre-eclampsia.
The judging panel commented:
“This product is a highly innovative technology in the form of a non-invasive home test kit. Its ease of use and high performance mean that it presents an exciting and unique way of testing for one of the leading causes of maternal and perinatal mortality and morbidity.”
The Made in the South East Awards 2015
MIAT was selected as a finalist in all three categories we applied to; The Apprenticeship Scheme Award, The Technology Award and the SME Manufacturing Company of the Year Award. Once again we were delighted to have been chosen and 8 of our employees attended the gala dinner at the Radisson Blu, Guildford in November, where we were awarded The Apprenticeship Scheme Award. MIAT is delighted to have been recognised for our three brilliant apprentices and our work with young people on the Work Experience and Graduate schemes as well.
The awards are designed to celebrate the success of manufacturing companies in the South East and to reward the innovation and technological expertise that the region is home to. Now in their third year, the awards are firmly established as the premier events for the South East manufacturing sector.

The Telegraph’s Festival of Business Award 2015
MIAT were ecstatic to have been chosen to be in the running for Best Small Business. This award, presented in association with Amazon, was announced at the Telegraph Festival of Business in November 2015 in London. MIAT was one of four companies that had been selected for real innovation and excellent growth out of just under 1000 entries. We are extremely proud of all here at Morgan for their continuing hard work and bright ideas which allow us to progress and succeed.

The Solent Business Awards 2015
In October 2015 representatives of 31 finalists for the six major awards were among more than 200 guests at the prestigious evening staged at the Hilton in Southampton’s Ageas Bowl. MIAT had been shortlisted for the SME of the Year Award as well as the Dynamic Growth Award.
After hearing from BBC South’s Sally Taylor and keynote speaker Lord Digby Jones, both inspiring presenters, we were delighted to win the Dynamic Growth Award as well as being placed 3rd in the SME of the Year Award. It is fantastic to be recognised for all the hard work everyone at the company has put in this year to achieve what we have.
The South Coast Business Awards 2015
The South Coast Business Awards 2015 took place at St Mary’s Stadium, Southampton in July where eight prestigious awards were handed out to the region’s top firms at a glittering black tie ceremony.
The Daily Echo organise the annual event in association with leading law firm Trethowans and in partnership with Business South and Destination Southampton. The awards aim to raise standards, encourage competition, and recognise business excellence.
We were thrilled to be selected as finalists for The Taylor Made Computer Solutions Best Use of Technology Award and The Lakesmere Growth Business of the Year Award.
The South’s Movers & Shakers Awards 2015
Morgan IAT has received a Movers & Shakers Award after being recognised as a company that has made a significant impact internationally on its market sector. This award was presented by a consortium of leading companies including Deloittes, Shoosmiths and UBS.
What makes the award unique is that no company was able to put itself forward or be nominated. Instead, more than 5000 companies in the south of England were researched and independently assessed against a set of measures.
“The criteria include being a ‘game changer’ in terms of developing new techniques and standards,” explained Sean Wright, partner at Shoosmiths and a co-presenter of the award.
Made in South East Awards 2014
Morgan IAT was shortlisted for 3 awards alongside some of the most innovative and successful manufacturing companies in the South East. The awards attracted some very strong nominations and Morgan IAT was delighted to be among the 5 shortlisted for the Export Award, the 5 shortlisted for the Technology Award and the 5 shortlisted for the Apprenticeship/Training Scheme Award. We were delighted that Morgan was highly commended in the Technology category.
IET Emerging Technology Finalist 2013
The Salurate project at Morgan IAT was selected as one of five finalists in the Emerging Technology Design category of the Institute of Engineering Innovation Awards 2013. The awards attracted over 400 entries from over 30 countries and Morgan IAT received a Highly Commended.
East Hampshire District Council Employer of the Year 2013
Anonymously nominated for this award, Morgan IAT was delighted to be presented the award by EHDC’s CEO at a Gala function.
Medilink UK 2012
Morgan IAT was the winner of the Medilink/SEHTA Regional Business Award for Export.
Petersfield Business of the Year 2012

The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise is an awards programme for British businesses and other organizations who excel at international trade, innovation or sustainable development. They are the highest official UK awards for British businesses. To be awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the category of International Trade, the Company had to show a substantial and sustained increase in export earnings over three consecutive 12-month periods, to a level which is outstanding for the products and services concerned, and for the size of the organisation.
