Morgan IAT is proud to support a number of charitable causes, all of which have special meaning to one or more members of our team. We raise money through a variety of activities such as: a company tuck shop, where 100% of the money goes to a selected charity each month; a staff 5K run around the Heath in Petersfield; and a charity football tournament, which was organised by one of our employees, meaning we get to have fun whilst supporting the causes we care about.
Epoulbass Foundation UK-Cameroon was founded by one of our employees, Fabienne Enongene, in 2014 after the death of her sister, who had devoted her life to helping young girls and vulnerable women escape from abusive marriages and relationships in the Eastern Region of Cameroon. So far, the charity has helped 37 women to learn practical skills in sewing, knitting, reading and writing, as well as helped them to organise themselves by forming farming cooperatives and starting various micro businesses so they can be self-sufficient. The foundation now hopes to build a multifunctional building, to be used as a community hub and training centre, which would help an increasing number of women.
Nystagmus Network supports people with Nystagmus, a complex eye condition characterised by involuntary eye movements caused by abnormal functioning of the part of the brain which regulates eye movement and positioning, and leads research into finding a treatment. We chose to sponsor this charity as one of our employees has a family member who suffers from the condition.
Mind provides advice and support to anyone experiencing mental health problems. At Morgan IAT we are committed to the mental, as well as the physical, welfare of our staff, which is why we are proud to support Mind.
Rowans Hospice offers support to improve the lives of people living with life-limiting illnesses, their families and carers in Portsmouth and South East Hampshire. We chose to sponsor Rowans Hospice because we are an avid supporter of local charities.
Hope for Joe
Hope for Joe is a fundraiser for Joe Rush from Petersfield, who is succumbing to a life limiting condition after being diagnosed with a terminal illness, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, at the age of 5. We chose to donate to the fundraising efforts for Joe as we were keen to support a young boy with a debilitating condition from our local area.
The Sustainability Centre
The Sustainability Centre is an independent learning and study centre and a beacon for sustainability in Hampshire’s South Downs. Morgan IAT chose to support this charity not only because we believe in what they do, but also because Morgan IAT’s chairman was chairman of the charity for 10 years and our research director has sat on the board for at least 10 years helping it to grow and flourish as a centre.
The Alzheimer ‘s Society
The Alzheimer’s Society provides support for anyone affected by dementia and invests in research into dementia care, cause, cure and prevention.
Muscular Dystrophy UK
Muscular Dystrophy UK brings individuals, families and professionals together to fight muscle-wasting conditions.
Prospect Hospice provides care and support to patients, carers and family members through a range of services.
Marie Curie gives care and support to people living with any terminal illness and their families.
Smile Train is an international children’s charity that provides free cleft repair surgery and comprehensive cleft care to children in more than 85 developing countries.
The Queen Alexandra
The Queen Alexandra provides outpatient clinics, diagnostic services, day case and surgical treatments, and inpatient services to patients with cancer. We have supported the oncology department at the Queen Alexandra as they supported a member of staff at Morgan IAT, who has now sadly passed away, throughout their treatment.
The Lion and Unicorn Players
The Lion and Unicorn Players are an amateur dramatic society based in Petersfield. An employer of Morgan IAT, who sadly passed away, was a member of the society, which is why we have chosen to regularly sponsor them.
We chose to sponsor Kiko Matthews in her challenge to become the fastest female to row 3,000 miles across the Atlantic from Grand Canaria to Barbados, solo and unsupported, and we were pleased to see her achieve her goal.
HSX Antarctica is the world’s first scout-led team attempting to ski to the South Pole and return under wind power. We chose to sponsor the team as we are keen to support local causes.
