HRH the Princess Royal meets Hampshire inventor

A respected local inventor was thrilled to meet HRH the Princess Royal when she officially reopened  London’s global engineering hub at the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET London: Savoy Place) on 26th October 2016. Howard Clarke, founder and chairman of Morgan Innovation and Technology Ltd was invited to represent the IET’s Innovation Award winners after the company won the IET’s Innovation Award for Healthcare Technologies in November 2015 for its Salurate product.

HRH the Princess Royal spent some minutes talking with Howard Clarke about Salurate and being shown how the test works.  Salurate is an exciting innovation which uses the simple analysis of salivary uric acid to detect pre-eclampsia in pregnancy.

Howard Clarke, chairman of Morgan IAT said: “We were terribly proud to win the award this time last year, and it was good to be able to demonstrate to Her Royal Highness how the product works.  The next stage will be a full user trial.”

Morgan IAT, founded in 1987 by Sue and Howard Clarke, is approaching its 30th anniversary year and won its second Queen’s Award for Enterprise (International Trade) in April. It now provides manufacturing services, and advises other businesses on regulatory CE marks and FDA approval.

Howard’s first invention for the company  was its flagship Neurotherm product, now sold globally, an innovative radio frequency machine that uses nerve ablation for pain relief.
