INNOVATE GUILDFORD BLOG – 4th MARCH, 2017
A quick report from Saturday’s event in Guildford, by our Test Engineering Team Leader, Jeff.
“We had a very busy day at Innovate Guildford (#IG17). There were over 3,500 visitors on the day, most of them families with young children. Hats off to our engineering apprentice, Kati who spent the whole day demonstrating the haptics device and had a constant queue of youngsters waiting to try on the glove! Everyone seemed very excited and interested in the experience.
“Several visitors to the stand were genuinely interested in what Morgan IAT did, from a business point of view, and we are following up some enquiries from inventors and medical professionals.
“Finally, it seems we have inspired a future inventor at our stand. A father saw our tagline about making ideas happen and asked his daughter what she would like us to make for her. She said she would like a “shrinking machine so I can shrink my brother”. Realising she may get into trouble, she then said “… and a blowing-up machine as well”. We have passed the enquiry on to our chairman and told the family that R&D would have a prototype for her to review by the end of the week.
“All in all, a fun and very worthwhile show to be part of.”
