We won! We’re Proud to Announce we’re Winners of a South Region MAKE Award

Research Director & Co-Founder, Howard Clarke, accepting the Manufacturing Matters Award for the South region.
On 19 October our Research Director & Co-Founder, Howard Clarke attended the MAKE South Region Awards and we’re very proud to announce we won; accepting the Manufacturing Matters Award for the South region.
The awards, sponsored by legal firm Bevan Brittan, and organised by Make UK, the manufacturers’ organisation, were held in Swindon to recognise the achievements of companies from across the South with the winners now going on to the National Finals which will be held in London in January.
The Manufacturing Matters prize is designed to acknowledge UK-based manufacturing companies that have demonstrated a positive societal impact because of their business practices, projects, or products. This could be through adapting business needs to benefit the local community, a well-being programme to support internal teams or the development of innovation that demonstrates the high value of manufacturing and its positive impact on society. Morgan IAT won the award in recognition of our extensive decades of work in the medical field as well as our first response to the Covid pandemic, most notably the manufacture of a vital component for the Pfizer vaccine rollout.
Morgan IAT CEO, Nigel Clarke said:
“We’re hugely proud to have picked up this award, it’s a true testament to the hard work and flexibility of the entire team over the past 2 years. After initial frustrations to help the Covid effort in the ventilator push, we are over the moon we were able to assist with the vaccine rollout, especially by flipping our manufacturing on its head and meeting crucial deadlines to ensure the vaccine was able to be delivered. It was great to see all the team, both existing and new, pull out all the stops at such an important time.”
Commenting on Morgan IAT judges said:
“Organisations like these are the reason why there is a light at the end of the pandemic tunnel. Sheer hard work and perseverance from across the workforces like Morgan IAT is allowing the country to get back to normal”
Judges were also highly impressed with the businesses’ flexibility stating that “Despite being hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic which saw the entire innovation sector take a sharp downturn in activity and many clients put contracts on hold, MIAT were proactive in successfully managed costs and resources to ensure the company’s survival”.
Jim Davison, Region Director for Make UK in the South, said:
“These awards are a testament to the fantastic companies and individuals working within engineering and manufacturing. The sector remains crucial for creating wealth in the South and as we re-build our economy there will be a bright future for companies such as Morgan Innovation.”
